good one. I haven't read it up till now cause it looked too tragic but I've heard it's quite rapey. Will be adding it!

I read it and I feel like although the protagonists fall in love through the rapey-ness, they do so despite it, not through it/because of it.

Romanticised rape is more about sugar-coating sexual assault and excusing it as something else/making it seem as not such a bad thing, sugarcoating it or making out the rapist into "not such a bad guy afterall" (example: ALL OF THE MANGA IN THIS LIST LMAO). I was a bit iffy about it cause they kept on piling on the seme's trauma like it excused what he did, but I thiiiink that the mangaka makes a point of the fact that Masataka forgave Souma, while understanding the weight of his actions, and that the burden of it the two of them will always have to carry. Also, it was kind of good that they didn't end up together - lol too toxic honestly. So, this manga falls into the disclaimer I have at the beginning of the first part of the list :D

It's the same reason why Zankoku na Kami is not on this list, which has a lot of similarities tbh. Anyways thanks though for encouraging me to read this, definitely a good - though heavy - read!!
