i don’t remember everyone from middle school tbh, just the ones i interacted with several times- even if i disliked the person, if i had as many memories with them as the uke did i wouldn’t forget them

Im kinda wondering... Do people actually forget the people they hang out with in middle/high school? Like for me its almost 10 years since I was in middle school and I still remember everyone from my group and pretty much everyone in my class. I just forget their names.
I read now so many stories that people suddenly forget everything about their relationship and or what they did together with them. I cant imagine it to happen to anyone besides people with memory loss, memory fog ect Im just confused by this
