Plus Cain didn't learn anything about the Black King even from his twin's memories. So it couldn't be the twin (I don't think the twin would get a title after his death).
Plus his twin also killed the snake in the beginner floors. He wouldn't kill his own pet.
Well maybe it’s like a space-time mess up and in the future he makes the snake but send it back in the past for his growth
By that you mean that the original Black King was Cain (using his code name is more convenient) all along... That would make it more like God of War 4 - though the time-travel was a coincidence.

betray is not like a rare thing, so maybe the black king had similar past and so he choose him to pass on his will and power since he tasted similar thing that happened to his brother so to help him have his revenge
I have a feeling that this Black King might be the twin brother. Because the description "betrayed by his subordinates" rings my bells.
