After reading the novel until the latest translation, I still don't feel sorry for Marie. She has to take care 5 useless idiots who got disowned from their noble houses. It's karma sis. But I admire her mentality and desire to survive like a cockroach. She's actually not bad, she'll grow on you eventually.

As many already suspected, Marie is Leon's little sis in past life. She admire Leon a lot, but at the same time fear him. Leon is pretty tolerable guy, but when anyone cross his bottom line, he will explode and retaliate extremely. So, as long as she didn't cross the line, Leon will spoil her and do whatever she ask, more than their parents. Basically, Leon is her pillar support.

When Leon died, her parents knew it's because of her, so they kicked her out to live by herself. She married a guy, but he had huge debt and end up run away then left her to settle the debt. She gave birth to a daughter, but she couldn't take care of her child so she asked her parents to raise her daughter, while she worked to pay off the debt. Then she died (I forgot her cause of dead).

She resent her brother for dying, because if he's still alive, he will surely take revenge on her ex-husband, or even prevent her marriage from the start. So yeah, even when she's adult, everytime she got trouble, in her heart she still screaming for help from her brother.
Basically, Marie is a brocon.

After Leon and Marie realize that they are siblings from past life, their relationship back like when they're brother and sister. Leon even give her allowance for living expenses, because those five idiots always waste money for useless things.

I still don't know if it's her fate (or curse) to end up with useless men, or every men she end up with become useless. Still not sorry for her though.
