I guess it was to give the MC more despair?
Like, if I was him, I would kidnapp the girl so that she would trade what the guy is thinking in exchange of her life.
That's what I initially thought she was for but nah it never went that way.
The guy is a psycho, not everything he does make sense that's normal.
Maybe he wanted to give MC a sense of helplessness, like "Lol, look, you can't even protect her, now surrender yourself to me and I'll let her go" or something
I know there is alot if shit that doesnt make sense in this story, but like i still dont get it, why was hayan kiddnapped? They never explain how she even related to all of this. She was just there
