Just like there's plenty of different types yaois, there's also plenty of yuris too.

If you want, I could try recommending some that I've enjoyed, and a little on the happier note after this tragic ending

Heh sure! I'll give it a shot ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

Well, first off, if you're looking to purchase physical copies, you can't go wrong with Seven Seas Entertainment. They've published some really good yuris for the english speaking side of the world. ( https://sevenseasentertainment.com/tag/yuri/)
    From them, I've really enjoyed:

Beauty and the Beast Girl: a really cute romance between the neighborhood "monster" and a blind girl who visits her.
Roadqueen Eternal Roadtrip to Love: this one was hilarious, it's one of those "lessons in how to love" kind of deal that's a pretty fun ride from cover to cover.
Scarlet: if you want something with some action to it and not afraid to have some blood mixed in with your yuri, you might like this one. It's a fantasy thriller with a little red riding hood motif mixed in.
You can also read these online for free but I know some people like to build a physical collection.

There's also some indie works out there online too like:
Lily: season 1 just finished on the artist's official webcomics page but season 2 is just around the corner. It's a charming school life love story that starts in high school and continues on into they're in college. Warning though, it's a slow burn with a lot of teasing but you can binge through it pretty quickly. ( http://m.webcomicsapp.com/reader.html?mangaId=5b990df346e6780f0b72987e&index=1)
Amongst Us: its a spin-off yuri from the author's original work but you don't have to read the original to get the spin-off. The main couple has this old married couple kind of vibe where they've been together long enough to know what buttons to push to get on each others nerves but you can sense a deep bond with a relationship like that. ( https://amongstuscomic.com/#volume=1&chapter=1&page=1&lang=en)

Also, this is an anime based off a game but Mysteria Friends (Manaria Friends). It's seriously way cute with short episodes that're easy to binge through. It had a dragon girl princess with a human princess

This is honestly my first time recommending anything so I hope these are a good groundwork for anyone wanting some yuris to read.

I read Beauty and the Beast Girl and loved it, it melted my heart!!!

If you started with that one I think we're close on tastes, I'll check the others out. Thank you!!!

    Most certainly!

Asagao to Kase-san (Kase-san and Morning Glories) is a pretty good one. It's a sweet romance between the school grounds plant caretaker and the school's track star. It goes from friendship to budding feelings to lovers so you'll get a lot of relationship development plus the two main girls are pretty cute (in my opinion of course). It's a very good first yuri that shows off all the sweetness the genre can give. There's also a Yamada and Kase-san but that's the second part of the series. You'll want to start with Asagao to Kase-san so you start at the beginning.

There's also Blooming Sequence where the main girls are in college and bonding over movies and the film making process. There's some drama that stems from past relationship traumas and accepting one's sexuality if I'm not mistaken but I wouldn't call it angsty. At least no one dies X9. It's completed on here but it's just marked incomplete because the site didn't include the author's note but you can see that for free on lezhin.com.

Webcomics are also a pretty good source for yuris too. One that I've been enjoying for a while now is Mage and Demon Queen. This one is based in a fantasy setting with demons and magic with a few mmorpg elements mixed into the world (e.i. mana, inventory management, and player revival). As the title suggests, it's about a mage falling in love with the demon queen and her adventures in her pursuit to have the queen acknowledge her feelings. It's a fun, binge-able ride with a bit of drama in the latest chapters around demon discrimination and mistreatment. A kind of "they're people too" kind of deal.

Typically, school life yuris are the sweetest from what I've experienced. The main characters are young and it's usually their first time experiencing love before life has a chance to kick them down. I tried recommending a few different things for a beginning yuri reader but feel free to check out the ones I recommended to Sonneth a little earlier.

    Hope this helps! (●'◡'●)ノ
