If you haven't read NY/NY yet go for it, its a gem and is very realistic too (a bit more overdramatic than J) but sure worthy

New York New York is a manga by Marimo Ragawa, they have it here on mangago, is placed in NY during the 80s and is absolutely fantastic, very lgbt, talks about religion, society, family values, is also a police drama theres a serial killer, is a masterpiece, girl I can't explain is just really nice I think if you liked J no subete you're gonna like NYNY too

A manga that has great characters, has topics of gender, sexuality, religion, poverty and all of this set in 50s and 60s American? What the hell! This is so great, so different.
