It gets better, after chapter 8 it gets a lot better. Until chapter 29. Everything goes to hell but the author promised a happy ending and chapter 29 was needed for progress so.... But I've been following it for 5 years. Maybe just wait until she finishes the manga. So you don't have to live with the worst cliffhanger ever.

Ok so just like you I remember starting the first chapter 2 years ago but I couldnt even finish it I was like wtf is this shit but then I managed to get through it and this manga easily became one of my FAVORITES! Theres so much more to offer besides the dark stuff. The relationships between the characters are really good and you begin to root for the mc even though he’s an asshole himself. Lots of grey morality play too

Okay yes. Unfortunately. :/ Karino protects Azusa from being a target and fucks him while, so its more like blackmail. The relationship between the two is very complicated and there is lots of grey area. But its beginning to evolve and it seems like Karino might actually have feelings for him. Honestly i dont see this as a yaoi but more like a psychological thriller. Its reallyyyy good but if thats not your tea dont worry about it!
Also the rape isnt super dark like its mainly portrayed. Obviously that doesnt undermine the fact that Azusa is in this blackmail situation but theres a sense of masochism in it as well.
Okay that's it, i am gonna read it, doesn't matter if i get depressed or not, i've read worse anyway. But i'll wait for it to finish since i wanna get depressed in peace.
