No, he's an asswipe because he chose the office of all places and then even showed the half naked Suha in an intimate state to a business associate, without permission and without telling him, and letting Suha continue working with that person with no idea that they had already seen him like that and been shown his and then director's supposedly secret fling!
Touché! Men are emotionally stunted compared to women, due to a varied scope of factors. Yet, a major element contributing to said issue, is societies stigma regarding men being even a smidge effeminate, let alone homosexual. Being taught on an international level that one has to be akin to &/or portray aspects of an asshole/douchebag, merely to be recognized as "manly". Said stigma, coinciding with the infliction of a trauma via what appears to be mental/emotional abuse from parental figure, during pubescence &onward to the present, would mutate anyones communication skills via relaying ones emotions in personal relationships, especially that of a partner/significant other. As well as, form a tendency &/or mentality to be possessive &/or jealous, with regards to the sheer lack of having examples of healthy close relationships growing up, as well as personally developing &maintaining said relationships throughout life. Thus, the few personal connections made are considered precious &guarded as such. With "guarding" being how ones possessiveness &jealousy would be perceived.
As such, I do believe he has symptoms of a societal stigma inflicted upon him &obvious signs of trauma from a childhood experience(s) [albeit, a lone incident or a continual one], which was/were never clearly addressed in a healthy manner. However, his love is unequivocally blatant &genuine, despite his methods of displaying it. Not to mention, when reviewing their exchanges throughout the entirety of the story thus far, Directors love interest Mr. Lee, despite being oblivious/aloof of Directors love for him &subsequent hints, Lee is more than happy to oblige Director. With only one out of all scences [ch.25], during which Director has a range attack induced by jealousy &possessiveness over seeing Lee with a past hookup. Director pulls Lee away from man &up to a hotel room, where he proceeds to interrogate Lee, who lies about having slept with previous man, pushing Director to the edge with his love for Lee &subsequently ______ entails [I don't know what word to use, for it wasn't a seduction, nor was it a rape. Lee clearly doesnt attempt to stop or rebuke Director, just exclaims on the speed of fucking &disbelief at instant insertion, so idk]. My point is, he isn't an asshole and is simply a product of the society that formed him &the circumstances that raised him... as we ALL fucking are.
End on chap. 11, he showed the half-naked, love-bitten sleeping Suha to Miss Choi. And given the way the director talked to her when Miss Choi confronted him about it later, it was not an accident... he wanted her to know he was "gay and taken", without actually having to say it directly (but his way of "telling" her was indeed unwarrantly aggressive, and with no consideration to Suha's privacy).
I reread chapter 15 and the way Director park was with Suha made him genuinely happy. So all the comments saying he's a asswipe, his actions may seem like it but his intentions are different. Looking back from chapter 15 to now I can tell that Director park really has fallen deeply in love with suha and just doesn't know how to control it, Suha not making it easy for him because he sleeps with other people. Even though Suha says he wants a no strings attached relationship, I can't shake the face Director park makes when he has Suha all to himself. He seems like the happiest person in the world and I don't want anyone to take that away from him. Anyways love this chapter I'm excited to see how this plays out. (≧∀≦)
