They probably hate chloe for not having a backbone and seeing the good in him. To me, Chloe comes off as a person who can forgive someone for their actions. I don’t think she’s the type of person to hold a grudge, unlike the other commentators here.
It's funny to see the comments hating on the FL for being "weak" I've read a lot of these kinds of stories and usually they have an upper hand like a noble's daughter or a relative of a noble and all they have to do is not fall in love with the ML. Homegirl was a slave in a strange world, was forced into a shitty marriage by her shitty half family and now back to a slave. Why would she want revenge? He threatened her? She was a royal and her pig husband was just as bad. I personally like her, she's holding it down better then I would have in her situation. As for the ML, meh, the same as almost all the other "cruel/cold" male leads ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
