solo leveling is 9.9 but ive never seen any 10 unless only 2 people voted

Why is kimitsu no yaiba rated so high both on MAL and mangago? I watched the anime and it was just a run of the mill cliche shounen plot with flashy effects? Is the manga that good? Is the manga plot at least better than the anime? Is the trio just as annoying in the manga as they are in the anime?

i didnt watch the anime but i read few chapters of the manga and yeah i thought it was interesting so i guess its more about the preferences?

I think most of those who voted preferred those kind of shounen cliches as you put it..the manga is really just to our tastes...and mostly everyone has their own preferred manga genre...in my case shounen stories like these...

lol im not salty at all. I thought it was a good anime. I love ufotable and all of their works. The anime was just not as great(to me) as everyone had hyped it up to be.

Also, YES, it is CLICHE.

1. Protag whose whole family got killed
2. Protag who joined big army force to get revenge/save someone who was affected by the demon/monster
3. Protag gets trained by a master and goes from being weak to strong
4.Protag has to get into the big army force by entering a competition/slay monsters in a big forest were anyone can be killed
5. Protag has lack of awareness/humility for the big shots(in this case, the hashiras)

All of these things I have listed are cliches. There is nothing in kimetsu no yaiiba that I have not seen before. That doesn't make the plot bad, it just makes it meh.

Makes sense. I actually really like shounen, but kimetsu no yaiba was just disappointing to me cause everyone hyped it up so much and it ended being like every other shounen just with flashy animation.

yes I'm hoping the manga is better, which is why I originally commented. I'll read it sometime soon I guess.
