Korean vs Japanese animations

Well not really a vs per say, it's just that it's a shame that great korean mangas(like SOLO LEVELING) don't get picked up or made into anime,...is it because Japan has a lot of prominent animation companies or is it that korea does not create much anime?

traditionally speaking animes can only be from manga, light novels or be original. For something to be a 'manga' it has to be made in japan and have very specific visual qualities. Korean manwhas arent mangas so itd make sense in that way. Also, its kind of like asking why american comic strips dont get an anime adaption. Its not made in japan

The webtoon is made in korea, with korean languange, korean character, korean setting, it'd be weird and hard for japan to make the anime adaptation, don't you think?.
If solo leveling gonna have an adaptation, it will be by korea.

What i meant here was it's just a missed opportunity that korean mangas don't get a lot of adaptations/animations as japanese mangas do, and i am wondering if it's because that japan has a lot of readily available animation studios.. i don't hear a lot of korean animation studios making adaptations right now
