Honestly, based on how the webtoon was in the beginning, I think the author didn't imagine this would be a super big series. It was probably meant for a short run but the response was so big that it got extended. By then, it was too late to change the names.
I think they may have been puns in Korean that just Did Not Translate well
I love this story and how pure and cute it was but I’m still not over the author named the main characters fanboy and star
