Joel, try to focus on improving your relationship with your kid instead of hanging around with his classmates, EW

I wish chase could find someone on an equal playing field to himself o_o

What I don't like is how Joel encourages his son's schoolmate to not only keep tabs on him, but also tattle on him. Like the last thing I would ever want is my schoolmate to spy on me and have parental authority over me. I would be pissed.

Chase at times to enjoy basking in his authority over Jesse at home and and at school. I can't believe Jesse -- the most frightening kid in the school -- has not snapped and smacked Chase in the nose. Chase goes way too far.

I'm not saying Joel is a bad dad exactly, but he is clearly dissatisfied with his relationship with his son, yet he keeps spending his time hanging out with Chase, Jessie's classmate. Like, maybe if you spent your time with your ACTUAL SON, listening to him and working things out like normal humans, instead of EMPLOYING JESSIE'S FRIEND TO SPY ON HIM, you might be able to improve your relationship.

Also, chase and Joel potentially going out is a major EW to me, as Joel is a grown ass adult and Chase's friend's dad. Maybe if they met in a different setting it would be ok, but as Jessie's dad, I feel like Joel should consider Jessie's feelings. He is trying his best to fix their relationship, and if him and chase became a "thing" it would definitely tarnish Joel's image greatly in Jessie's eyes.
