As a bi, I second this. And also, one of them doesn't even seem to be gay? If anything, the actual villain of the two of them is a dude of unknown orientation who's been using a gay/bi man's love for him to manipulate him. Gaspal would probably be a lot less vile without that cousin's years of negative influence.
I get feeling betrayed that the only example of non-straight relationships in this webtoon are two of the villains, but after reading so many of these webtoons, personally I think it's a miracle such a relationship was included at all, and that Gaspal's love itself is portrayed positively.
They're not good people, yeah, but it's not them being gay (if they both are) that makes them bad, it's how they treat other people. It would've been so easy and so typical for the narrative to portray their relationship as another thing that makes them Dirty or Degenerate, but instead Gaspal is shown to GENUINELY cherish the cousin (i'm sorry i just can't remember his name dkjfgjdf).
It's just a shame that the cousin himself is such a lying piece of shit. : I'm starting to hope Gaspal finds out what's been going on and runs away to find himself or smth, like. Get some distance, figure yourself out, apologize to the people you hurt, and find an actually mutual, healthy kind of relationship. The cousin is beyond help, but I think Gaspal could pull off a redemption arc. Or maybe I'm just a sucker for happy endings ;;

Doesn’t matter if they work hard or not. They’re working hard to prevent the author from knowing this is here, that’s for sure. Their feelings get hurt and they quit? Big deal. There will always be a way to read manga for free.

lmao. not once did i try to defend the translator group that sniped this project from the original group. i was defending the GENRE and the plotline. i was replying to op and how they were angry at how the romance was portrayed. i apologize if my comment came across as something different and i can see how someone could misunderstand it. i talked about people like op who discouraged translators. when i said that, i wasnt trying to generalize or defend the sniper group. just commenting on how rude op was and how she reminded me of ppl who made translators drop projects bc they didnt feel appreciated enough (e.g people complaining about font or whatever). her attitude was uncalled for lol
The fact that it’s getting dropped is nothing to cry over. Let’s face it, this isn’t the most exciting reborn/duchess story. She’s not super cute or satisfyingly cunning. The Duke isn’t extremely handsome. In fact, I prefer the baron’s sharper looks.
We’ve seen ‘they’re not actually cold hearted, just inexperienced in love’ type dukes before (‘she’s the only one that makes him blush, aww’ uuugh, get over it. It’s cuter when you’ve tamed a player). We’ve seen cheating bastards before. We’ve seen greedy-asshole families before (WITH the cheating cousin). The duchess is actually the most bland out of all of them.
The ONLY thing that made this one unique is the fact that the man cheating on her was gay. And that’s actually just insulting.
