My high school langauage arts teacher always told us to know the ending of your story before you start the beginning. I see why that's important here.
There could be different reasons as to why it keeps clickbaiting the ending
1. The author genuinely does not know how to end it. Hopefllly it's not this because it will end up becoming rushed/confusing/ or it continues to just keep adding and adding more content as they are doing now.
2. The editor didn't like what his original idea was for the ending. Let's be honest here editors have a lot of influence on what goes on in the story. He may not like the ending the author originally had or the publisher encourages them to keep going (for more money).
It could be something else but oh well. They could have just ended it after fighting the demon king in zeldris body, and made these chapters part of a different series (ex. Fairy tail 100 years quest). I see a lot of people complaining but you guys have to remember they cater to Japanese fans before anything. If they don't complain this is probably just going to keep on happening.
