Everyone has their preference but I strongly desagree. The second couple is so superficial and it feels all too rushed according to me, really not emotionally touched by it. It feels like a lot of Yaoi manga where the boys get together too quickly and you can't really feel the emotional bound and developpement. At least Kirara and Ken have good chemistry and their story is touching

Though, liking second couples more that the main couple can be frustrating :P!
Could be nice if they where a main couple from a 3~4chapters manga. "Yankee is in love with a cute-feminine boy for years but the boy never gave him a chance. One day, tho, a transfer student comes up and meddles with his business..."
