Silly argument.
Most popular stories have passionate fanbases. Batman, Game of Thrones, Star Wars, ect. People who enjoy characters often do become passionate about the characters.
If no one gives a damn about the characters, there won't be any discussion which is very bad for the health of the story.
Do you also go to the d Game of Throne forums and go "Why are ya'll being so serious about this Dragon Queen. You do know she's ficiontal, right. Lololol"
Yeah duh. This is the place to discuss the story. It's the comic's comment section. If you don't like a comment, just scroll by. No need to keep wondering why readers discussion the story in a place earmarked for discussing the story.
