**possible spoilers, but mostly just general information that could be understood from reading the first couple chapters**
After reading the novel, I was finally able to come up with a good comparison for this novel. It's honestly a lot like omegavese stories.
Just so we are clear, the novel has dozens of R18 chapters and it's all consensual. Verbal consent.
Many people seem to strongly dislike the ML because of his obsessive qualities. But when compared to Alpha and omega relationships in omegaverse, he isn't all that bad. He isn't violent towards the MC and his strong form of love isn't unique to him. The MC is very possessive in her own way (a self-confident one).
I am now going to explain the most controversial thing in the novel so *spoiler alert*
Basically most people object to the "royal flower" he gives her the first time they are intimate. To make it simple, it means he can only have kids with her and she has to marry him (basically like a bite mark/bond from omegaverse). While she consents to sleep with him, he doesn't ask her permission for putting the flower on her. Yes, it is wrong of him to do that. However, once he learns who she is he points out that they were going to be married anyway so it changes nothing.
He did it because he didn't know who she was and took the opportunity to claim her. She tells him before that she has a fiancee but seems unhappy about it so he knows that it might be his only chance to claim her (omitted in the manga)
Bottom line: What he did was a dick move. However, he did have one or two reasons (even if they seem like convenient plot points). That being said, he will devote himself to making her happy for the rest of his days so it works out in the end.
