I get what you mean, but I think they are still immature at that age. Feelings are perceived in such a way that is purer, so there is no perception of age in play. I think what got him was her maturity and depth.(cuteness too)
I actually get a brotherly feeling from him now. I mean, my brother is 7 years older than me and when I was about 5 skinship was sth normal, and I was the cute younger sister to his friends too, so it wasn't sth strange and creepy, just kids playing together, oh and of course there was no inapproptriate touching, so don't worry :).
