I kind of feel the same, I can't avoid to feel angry with her meeting his majesty.. It's not like I hate her, she's a good girl! But ARRRGGG She doesn't knows what she's doing!
She says "i have a family" But did you stopped to think how you are taking your sister's family? And I know you're a little kid and I can't blame you for anything you're so pure but I get so pissed off because that's how the old Jeanette was and everything ended messed up by that.
Conflicted feelings at it's finest

I guess that's a good thing, because tbh I would've felt so much better if Jennette was actually evil so we can just put the blame on her. But that would be horrible story writing and the character would be too cliche making the story boring. So Jennette in the manga= necessary evil but a Jennette in real life
(╬ ̄皿 ̄) honestly I would yell at the girl in real life, not in a malicious way, but in a 'get to your senses you naive brat' way.

Omg people i just read a spoiler that made me shook af. Can u remeber the first chapter where little Athy is begging Claude, "what can I do for u to love me too?" and Claude was like "not once have I considered u my daughter". Remember that scene? Well... I just read a continuation of that scene. Claude and Jeannette are drinking tea, but he still feels guilt about Athy or something. Like he doesn't know why he cares for her. Conflicted feelings, I guess. And Jeanette tells him (around these lines), "if it's a problem that weighs on your heart, why not just forget about it and pretend as if nothing happened.... Or.... You could erase the origin of the problem". (I'm like wtf.) Then Claude replies, "you're surprisingly offering quite violent solutions". (I'm like woah...wait.) Then she offers him some tea to "instantly ease his worries", and when Claude sips it he describes it as his worries literally washing away.... And I'm like.... Woah..... Bitch. That's shady af. We were right all along. (if u wanna read it, someone posted it in the comments above. Go find it. Omg)

OK I have to be fair. She said those things not knowing this was about Athy she didn't know what Claude was thinking about, she only sensed his worry (but did she really? With that tea? Lmao). But if people still think she's "kind" and "pure" and "innocent" after saying this shit like "erase the origin of the problem". I mean.... F**k that lmao lololol

Tbh I think that in the original story Jennette wanted Claude to herself, she was scared Athy was gonna take her place even though she loved her as a sister. Even in this story line she loves Athy but doesn't think of how her interaction and visits with Claude will affect Athy who visits her everyday

Well to me that reasoning doesn't make sense cuz in the OG story, if she really truly "loved" Athy, there's just no way she would be scared of "losing" her place to her. Like what does that even mean? She was scared of losing her place so the whole tea poisoning thing was just a "coincidence" and she really "couldn't do anything to help" and before she knew it Athy was executed?? Umm... No. The way I see it, that's a load of bull. There's no way this Jeanette girl is actually that naive. I don't believe she's actually dumb or dense or too innocent to understand these thing, ok? After all the things she's been through? And she's still, what, pure?? No way. She'd do anything to have a family.
Also the book mentioned this (spoiler ahead) . Bcuz she was born with dark magic, she subconsciously attracts people to her and the attraction magic grows stronger according to her emotions. And this is why Lucas always has to "cleanse or purify" Athy when she comes close to Jeanette, and says stuff like "there's somthing dirty on you". Well... What do u think? I tend to over analyze I just love this series.

I think she has something she secretly desires like being loved only by Claude. Because if she truly wanted "a family" like she said why wasn't she the least bit sad when Athy was outsed by Claude? Because then what she wanted wasn't a family just Claude. I think she likes Athys company?? Doesn't truly hate her, but at the same time she wants the love from Claude to herself. She didn't tell Athy about visiting him and didn't even think about helping her when she visited Claude. All she thought about was how she was so happy to meet him. I have more doubts about her then I do trust.
Worse case scenario I can think up for Jennette is she knows what she's doing but she's just being naive and deceiving herself and others in the process. Ugh. I've never hated a good Samaritan character so much.

I really can't tell if author-san is gonna go along with this naive, goody two shoes type character for the whole series and make us deal with it or if she's gonna make an event which matures Jennette to be slightly more bearable. Either way, LUCAS MY MAN YOU GOTTA COME BACK ATHY NEED YOU OMG IM GONNA LOSING MY SHIT

yea I really think a lot of people are just over analyzing every subtle gesture as something insidious here xD there were plenty of moments littered throughout the series of jennete showing her concern or care for athy. also jennete if anything, seems uncomfortable around claude. even if she like the idea of a father figure, she's been sort of traumatized by of him ever since he chased her out of the palace garden. I find it quite funny seeing her compare both anatacious and claude and think claude is worse ( ̄∇ ̄")

Hmpf she isn't his daughter and he doesn't know that she is made to be his daughter and even athy who is his real daughter got worse treatement i don't really blame claude of anything if we want to hold a grudge we must hold it against mister white who is the source of all this and anatacious ofc i wonder why he is still alive didn't claude make sure he is dead or did he escape and claude know about it? And the question why mister white forbid him from getting close to jannette? I mean he isn't going to reveal that he is her real father or anything so why?

Anastacious like the guy who cheated with Claudes girl Jennettes mom? (Personally ew you did it with your lil Bros girl? but meh) I saw someone mention that the black haired guy isn't him tho according to the novel, it's some other magician who took in Lucas when he was younger and is obsessed with him or smth and that he's waiting fo Lucas to come back from the tree?? Idk too
It's not that i hate the current jannette but when u remember the original story it just makes u mad i mean u can see how claude listens to athy's wishes so it must have been like that to jannette in the original i know she begged claude to not kill athanasia and she was sad when she was dead but that's just to show her like the pure hearted princess and soon after jannette married izekiel and happy ever after? (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ do something about ur damn sister or cousin or whatever look how athy is caring for u
I'm talking about the original jannette not this
