I think that's the least probable theory concerning granny. At the beginning of the story Charlotte was only three weeks old. Meaning that it had only been three weeks or so since her mother died. When Charlie stumbled across granny when he was on the run since he had nowhere to go, we could deduce that it's only been a few day or weeks since he's been on the run since he picked up Charlotte. How could someone's appearance change so much in roughly a month or two? That's unrealistic since her mother was human.

Moreover, what further enunciates that the mother is not granny is the psychic prowess that she has. She does seems to have some clairvoyance abilities. I don't think you could develop psychic abilities overnight. You either have it or you don't. So yeah... The mother really did die an atrocious death and that's really sad...

Plus I think that if she'd really survive that then she would have come after that mad bastard and tried to snatch her child from his clutches what with all that money that she has no?

I would have loved to know more about granny's background story too since she seems like the kind of character that would have been kickass back in her youth.

the one thing i was wondering was like WHAT ABOUT CHARLIE'S PARENTS. HIS POOR PARENTS WERE WAITING FOR HIM AND THEN THEY FIND OUT THAT HE'S NEVER COMING BACK AFTER JUST HAVING HIM HOME FOR LESS THAN A YEAR.
