I wish the author hadn't glossed over Ruka telling Taisei about the rape and the way Taisei handled the breakup after the rape poorly... as per the usual M.O. of glossing over things in these stories. Will that be addressed in the sequel?

It would be almost impossible for one young man alone to anally rape another young man of the approximate size and strength, who has played sports, and is fighting back. It's difficult to put it in when the other person is cooperating, let alone when there's no lube and they aren't holding still. The anus greatly differs from the vagina in this regard.
The fight between the two boys is far from the most heartrending events of the story.
Even if the author intended to somewhat imply some form of intent to abuse, this story is not about rape or the poor f'd up Takei. It's about lovers who love each other deeply, who have problems between them that stem from one of them facing devastating loss at age 14.
Have you ever lost absolutely everything?
    Love is the focal point.
Love will be addressed in the next book, too, I imagine. I haven't yet seen "After That Juliet" By the end, you could maybe find some fun it this?

how did Taisei handle it poorly? He went to Luka, tried to talk to him, begged him to at least let him come over when Luka had his heat. What did you want him to do?
