I already discussed the ending back in June and I don't have much time right now but for everyone who's confused, here's what I wrote back then. It should answer some questions (you can also go a few pages back in the topic section and see other people's interpretations):
That''s how I understood it: Yuju was killed by the guy who kidnapped her (we saw him earlier in the story). Their father planned to cover up his crimes with it, by making Giju look like the bad guy (he insisted that Giju was the one who seduced him when he raped him and now he wanted to prove that Giju's really the one to blame for everything). Their mother knew about the plans of her husband, hence why she told Giju to leave the house and run away (it wasn't because she hated Giju, she wanted to protect him). When Yuju's death became known, she killed herself and her husband by setting everything on fire. Giju lost it because of her death. Most of the last few chapters took place in his subconsciousness. He was in denial about her death, claimed it was just a dead bird in that box not Yuju. When he finally realized what really happened he jumped from the roof of a high building. Young-do was killed by a killer hired by his old boss (the one we saw at the temple). His blonde friend wanted to overthrow the old boss but the old boss found out and ordered to kille them all. However, blondie managed to get away and the now famous girl he used to be friends with made sure that his wife and child were save. His plan failed, hence why he used Giju as a scapegoat and it looks like he survived, unlike Young-do. The last scene is Young-do and Giju meeting in the afterlife.
There are probably other ways to read it but that's how I understood it.
I was really confused why I wanted to cry but after reading you interpretation of it, it all makes more sense & now I’m really crying. That’s so sad...
Thank you so much...! U made me 10 times more depressed (seeing how I hadn't even realised ANYONE had died (besides that family)) but I definitely needed it and what u said makes sense so... Wow.. much more cryptic than my basic brain could handle Σ(っ°Д °;)っ
