I just don’t understand how these women get molested in a train full of people. Seriously girl, scream, kick him in the groin, snatch his a*** up by the collar. Do something!

Though I've never seen it, heard about it or experienced it in real life, it seems like this type of harassment is legit in Japan. Women are silently enduring it because they're a) scared and b) embarrassed. Japanese women generally aren't as outspoken as western women, also there is the whole "harmony" concept too. In this case, if women were to raise a commotion in a train, they would disrupt the "harmony" of the place and would convenient the people around. It's the culture thing, so to say... It's a bit lengthy to properly explain, so this have to do :)

It’s hard to understand unless you’ve been in a situation yourself. It’s very common for ppl to freeze up and panic internally in a scenario like that because they’re young and/or confused

I hear you. But in my honest opinion, if you can’t even call for help in a situation where there is TONS of potential help readily available, you probably shouldn’t be out in public alone. This means you are totally incapable of protecting yourself in this dangerous world. The idea of someone trying to molest you in a packed train and you can’t even ask for help (after the first 10 seconds of shock wears off) or defend yourself is literally propagating an unrealistic, Stone Age ideal that women can’t defend themselves. I’m not even trying to argue, l just think it’s an unrealistic manga trope

But I am an American girl so maybe I’m just assuming that people should be able to speak up for themselves. We walk outside expecting problems
