something that i noticed

the occurring motif that goes along with taku is candy. it has been constantly stated that taku loves sweets. in this chapter, a flashback of joowon says “you can’t just stick candy in a kid’s mouth when he’s crying and begging to be held. that’s just for your own peace of mind”. when i read that line it reminded me of one of the current chapters where taku said he wanted haseoo to hold him like the time he held him.

joowon isnt wrong though. haseoo has been in many relationships and it seems to me that those relationships are haseoo’s “rush” to experience something new and fresh since he has been with joowon for a decade. (which i assume can be pretty taxing on a person especially since theres a lack of communication between the two).

after the first time haseoo and taku slept together, taku insisted that haseoo stayed the night and even went as far as to confess that he liked him, but haseoo left. i dont fully remember the chapter number, but after he left, taku was frustrated and grabbed a lollipop and bit it out of frustration. haseoo is his “candy”, and so taku looked for the tangible candy to rid of his frustration.

in short, haseoo is taku’s candy and the line that joowon says in the flashback seems to parallel with haseoo and taku’s relationship. it could also be foreshadowing, but this is all based on speculation

i totally agree, but what do you mean by 'its foreshadowing something'? like what exactly?
taku reached for that candy like a smoker would do for a cigarette when they're frustrated or stressed out, idk i find that interesting since haesoo is a smoker :) they're both similar in many ways

ohh my take was it kinda foreshadows joowon being further against taku and haseoo’s relationship and possibly doing something to stop that since in the current chapters he cant stand taku as a person. but yeah i didnt think about haseoo smoking to relieve his stress like taku munching on candy (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

No, I think you were originally right. The candy is brought up in one of the first chapters, in that scene you described and again here. The author is defintely using it as symbolism.
