I hate when authors have to make the ex look bad in order for the heroine to move on or something. I can't really put into words what I mean but it's like it is wrong for the fl to have been married or loved someone's else already. 3 stars

    Already? Hadn't it been like 4 years since her first husband died? Need to reread, I guess.

    She already moved on though.....what she cannot move on is the betrayal.
    And I agree with you on making the ex looked bad....but in this story, I'm just happy for ML...hahaha

    That wasn't his kid but he was gross for cheating. You didn't even read what I was said I never said she moved on "quickly". From what we saw the ex was a good person until the author had to make him "bad". Authors do this a lot the fl couldn't just have nice memories of her dead husband. However horrible he was she hadn't moved on yet she was upset that her ring had to get cut off. The ex was the main obstacle for the ml because he was feeling inferior to him. So in order to fix that the author had to make him the bad guy. They could have just confessed and been lovey dovey. That scene of her crying over the pic could have been her leaving the past in the past and moving on. But no let's drag the dh.

    I wholeheartedly agree with u. What's wrong with having a good husband who died, for a change? Why do the exes of the FLs always have to be bad guys that the ML deliberately or unknowingly, constantly compares himself to? Why can't she have had a healthy relationship in the past, and the break-up came with good memories for her? Is that too much to ask? Anyhow we look at it, it's for the sake of the STUPID plot, to make the MLs look good and the FLs look bad, considering their bad choices in the past (not that it has changed, as she chose the ML in the present lol), which actually goes both ways: See how ML loses his playboy ways to become "good", and deserving of her. LMAO

    I don’t believe that the author made him out to be bad;

    I mean she said that she was only attracted to him and she mistook that for love,, on the other hand he only accepted her because his mom liked her (like shit homeboy,, her admiration could have turned to love for you later but you just didn’t like her at all and just married her)
    they married and should have stayed faithful if not then get divorced sooner rather than later (also don’t get married for a dumbass reason),, the mother-in-law caused more pain by knowing everything and not telling her (she was the same as the son)
    also on their first night homeboy basically didn’t take care of her properly he forcefully did it instead of taking things slow knowing that it was her first time (and he had the audacity to say that she’ll get used to it and then he cheats)

    either way the author already had the personality of the ex-husband down when she started the book,, plus we all know that it’s common that not all marriages work out (it can be abuse, miscommunication, cheating, etc) plus most people are not friends with their exes
