hahaha, I had the same reaction! Just kept telling him that in almost every chapter I read and when he finally did I couldn't believe myself. Now I wonder wether his learned sir dragged him away or if he did it on his own...or dragged his learned sir away with him? I mean last one is far fetched but not impossible, right?
