What you are saying is the same as *video games gives killing tendencies*. I mean, maybe theres a little of truth in it, but it’s really not that much. I guess 13 years old girls who reads a lot of yaois and dont get a proper education, maybe they will get they will think its normal. But do you see any comment here saying *its ok rape is normal in a relationship* ? I never saw such thing. Some people think the rapey scenes are exciting, others will think its disgusting and others will just continue and dont give a shit.
Im not saying you are wrong, maybe some people were influenced by yaois but the % is probably extremely low.
And technically, you are probably supposed to be an adult to buy yaois, and an adult most likely already has a way of thinking that wont be changed by reading yaois.
... The same that saying that video games gives killing tendencies ? Seriously? We're talking about representations, here. Not tendencies. Nobody's going to go out one day, after reading that to rape people. That's far more complex than just that.
You want to draw rape? Well, do it but show it's rape and not acceptable. This kind of representations are one of the kind which confuses victims. Cause the main character, even if he calls it rape himself, is not touched by it, it's normal and it's shows like not a big deal.
Well, in real life, that's not it. And when rape is always showed like "not a big deal" and a way to convey the feelings of the rapist, consequences can be sawn in real life. Cause it just penalise victims to recognise a sexual agression or rape as it is. It will lead to a denial and a victim-blaming most of the time. (Which has a big incidence on the psyche of the victim, obviously)
The problem as it is isn't only in Yaois. You have plenty of this kind of glamorization of sexual violence in the mainstream medias. That's the problem. We have a culture where violence is seen as sexy and sexuality as violent. This Yaoi is a perfect representation of it, and it fuckin' tires me out.
I aint gonna give a free class, if you want to educate yourself, I'll leave some links for you to read.

That s why yaoi is not something you read when you 're in your early 10 ... as an adult I'm able to enjoy the story as only a story... but when you 're like 12 and read such a thing ... girl ofc you 'll start thinking that assault and sexual harassment is normal and means love and romamce ... like your brain is so vergin for everything... this is why it is important to respect age restrictions... there is plently of shounen ai to read out there ....
This is funny you 're elder than me lol... well there are a lot of sweet shounen ai stories that'll let you enjoy how the romance goes smoothly without forcing any one ..... but i think it s different when it comes to yaoi ..yes , it s kinda disturbing sometimes how the plot
Can be kinda dark but I guess when it is yaoi nobody cares about the fact that the story is bad or about rape .... readers just enjoy the visuals and that s all ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ ... personally I see yaoi only as a good visual material...and I enjoy the BL light novels for good story content
Thing is : That's not supposed to be a dark plot. I read Killing Stalking and as it was depicted, I didn't have any problems with the abuse scenes. Cause they were identified as it was.
I'm. just rephrasing myself here but : This kind of representations hurts real people. Showing the rape as okay and taking it lightly hurts real people. Cause this is the common representation of it.
And as it is, I read a lot of Yaoi where nobody was forced and everybody enjoyed the D. On and off, I have a boyfriend, Bodysuit fetish, Oblivious love factor... I can go on and on. Thing is : You need a rape scene as a pivot of your plot ? You're a lazy ass author.
Just stop supporting mangas where the rape is taken lightly. That's all. Wake up.
I get what your point is .... well it s true that this kind of story line helps in enlarging the rape circle and getting more people to accept this shitty idea as the start of every romance and the worst of all is that the uke gives up and falls in love with his raper lol which is classified as some psychology syndrome or something like that but obviously the authors will prioritize money over a good story line... like if that s what the nation wants give it to them ... everyone's satisfied and case closed... it s kinda sad how we indeed enjoy the " rape " scenes lol and obviously this is what works well these days in the yaoi business so i don't think it s gonna cool down any time soon (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
Okay, I'm pissed off. What's with this sugar-coated rape? Oh, yeah, I know... "It's just fantaaaaaaaaaaaasy! That's okaaaay! Nanani-nananou..." Well, no, that's not okay. Studies and shit shows that representations of rape as something not important and not bad are a part of the rape culture. 'mnot gonna give you a free class, if you think it's okay cause it's just fantasy, well, educate yourself.
I'm fuckin' fed up with this manga. I am. I was letting go the rape trope at first (even if it puts me off.) but when the uke was sexually assaulted and punished by the seme??? What's kind of dumb fuck is that? That's so sick. That's so fuckin' sick.
And for all the smarts ass that are saying that the story is so good cause it's so angst and romantic... No, it's not. If you're not able to write a love story without the rape as an help to bring closer the characters, then you're just not a good writer. At all.
