i think you are too focused on being an advocate against "racism"that you forget that there are people who doesn't get hurt with stereotypes like this. comedian do it all the time and sometimes their jokes are even worse than this. this comic is nothing compared to their standup comedy. and people laugh because its funny and they move on.

Stereotyping is racist. Stop playing dumb. Stereotyping dehumanizes one race and in doing so 'others' them, or separates them, from one's own race, giving way to a creation of racial hierarchies. Stereotyping and racism go hand in hand. And it doesn't matter if they're background characters. There are so many talented mangaka that treat their background characters with far more attention to detail than this. Them being background characters is no excuse. And when did I say that portraying black people with big lips and curly hair was bad? I said donut lips and hurried, squiggly lines was bad. Donut lips are hallmark of black face, and that's why I brought it up in the first place. And I bring in my education because that's where I'm learning all this shit. Where are you learning your shit, my good bitch?
In any case, just read the comments on this manga written by actual black and african people. Their opinion is probably more insightful and valuable than anything you or I have to say.

well you motherfucking shithead who doesnt use their brain obviously or rather has a lower cognitive ability than a fucking dumpster rat.there is a difference between racism and stereotyping. clearly you havent read enough comic or mangas or anything for that matter to know that sometimes extras dont need much attention you sorry excuse of a dimwit. you retarted fuck. all your so called education is shit. why dont you just jump of a building then stand up and jump off one again maybe that will do you something good!

"butthurt" okay now I know I'm literally speaking to a 12 year old lol. And there are still women alive from that time period that are actively trying to gain reparative action from the Japanese government, but Japan is currently under rule of a conservative democratic party and is complicit in revisionist history and it is unlikely that they will ever be indicted for these war crimes. So no, things are not in the past. Victims of the past are still living today. The effects of slavery are still happening today. That's why we still make a big fucking deal out of it. You think white cops are targeting black people for no reason? Where do you think their prejudice comes from? Their racist attitudes have their origins in the plantation.
I know you don't give a shit about who I am or what I do. I bring up who I am because you said I don't give a shit about other races, and to provide evidence that I do I mentioned my lived experience. Stop taking things out of context and develop some critical thinking skills, and maybe an extra brain cell to accompany the singular one you have in your possession, perhaps it's lonely.

Blacklivesmatter was founded and remains led by black women. Black people and people marginalized by white supremacy have always led movements for black/poc liberation. My education on slavery and the civil rights movement started and ended in elementary school, when it should have been taught at every grade until graduation as a core class. So although America isn’t entirely revising our history, it’s not doing a great job at teaching the legacy of slavery either. And simple acknowledgement isn’t enough. Some form of reparative action needs to be made to alleviate the echoes of our violently racist past, too.

progress was made and progress is being made foe african americans. in todays society racisms againsts the black communicty isn't what is was. slavery was abolished, right to vote, etc. there is progress unlike with the comfort women. you should not be in these kinds of website if simple comic like this will hurt and trigger you. people cant even enjoy comedy nowadays because sensitive people are always making such a big deal out of it.
i find it funny.. its for comedy sake its not meant to insult and be racist. lots of comedians make fun of other cultures i dont see them getting hate for it. and the main character doesnt have european features!!! black people can have different features!! those features are not exclusive to europeans..
