I don’t know if this was the authors intent but I personally believe this book is a really good representation of how homosexuality is still viewed in Japan because to this day they are progressing towards being a more LGBT friendly country many still feel they have to hide it and it’s still taboo but there are some Who would love to Flontat and they can’t and it’s really sad and it hurts because they feel that they can’t be excepted even though they’ve excepted them selves and that is the hardest part

It really is unfortunate considering that homosexual relationships were considered normal in Japan, if not common, prior to the Westernization that occurred during the Meiji period. Hope that Japan can go back to its roots in modern times.
