Jeff is best!!!

I'm not really digging jeffrey, he lied and kept the situation about her apprentices secret from lotte for mostly self centered reasons, he's not as nice or cute as people make him when he is trying to monopolize her. lotte really loves her apprentices, they are like her children in a way so to keep it hidden when one of them has started kidnapping people because he couldn't cope with his own grief, well that must have really hurt her trust in him. that and lotte friendzoned him xD

I wouldn't say he lied to her. I felt he was respecting her wishes. Lotte wanted a second life and she wished not to inform her apprentices or reunite with them. I agree he may have taken it too literal. In a way, I can't blame him because I would figure she would a more "selfish" life. Not that she is selfish but more like living for herself, since her past life was devoted to everyone else.

withholding information is lying by omission, its true she wanted them to live their own lives but this was while she was still under the impressions they simply moved on with them afterwards. jeffrey knew about the rumors, he knew they were all acting out causing problems, and he knew how she would feel and react about their actions in society (she was bound to find out eventually) but he kept it to himself, not for her, for himself because he wanted to monopolize her attentions. people seem to have a soft spot for jeffrey probably due to his romantic feelings towards the female mc. I have found a recurring pattern with male characters, they always come off more endearing and empathic towards readers when their are motivations are out of "love", they can get away with quite a lot with just that excuse. it humanizes them, thats why people tend to overlook his lying and focus on just his chivalry towards her. but people in love dont always act selfless, or kind.

Withholding information is lying but is it lying when the person walked away from the situation/scene. She left it behind to look for love(?), because she believe they were fine without her. Who is he to barge that information upon her after all that. In a way, wouldn’t that be selfish to impose his duties (assuming it is his city to govern) onto her after all she has done for the world. I wouldn’t agree that he is monopolizing her. She has the freedom to do as she please, and it seems like she’s been outside the city for a while. I do agree that he was looking out for his own self interest in a way (too early still in the series and I don’t know their history) but that’s just humanity. Not everyone can be selfless like Lotte. I agree I do hate that male leads are forgiven too easily for the sake of love, and as much as it frustrates me, this happens in the real world too often. People get stuff in toxic relationships. Now I’m just laughing at myself for this analysis l, I think I making a far stretch with my statements and reading too deeply into their Lotte and Jeffery’s relationship; when I should just enjoy the author’s story. lol In the end, it’s just a story for us to squeal over.

"Withholding information is lying but is it lying when the person walked away from the situation/scene" we are arguing over technicalities here, the person herself wasn't okay with what he did and was hurt because of it. now she feels guilty the situation has escalated to this point while she was off having fun while being ignorant, and he didn't think about how that would put more of a burden onto her shoulders. he is her friend, of course its in his right to "barge" in and consider her thoughts and feelings by telling her the situation and letting her make the decision. that doesnt strike me as something selfish in anyway, quite the opposite it shows respect and I would have admired him more for the proper communication. oh when I said monopolizing I didn't mean physically stopping her from doing anything, I meant redirecting her interests elsewhere to where he would prefer them to be. and it was still selfish. your right at the end of the day its just a webtoon and its probably silly to over analyze such things, normally I dont and take it all just at face value but I cant really help myself when it comes to stories I do like (づ￣ ³￣)づ your free to have your opinion and if my long post came off heated in any way it was not meant to be offensive I just can't agree with how he handled the situation is all. do take care.
