This is extremely common for Chinese webtoons. Rapist male lead and bitchy female rival who hates the female lead for no legitimate reason. And this stuff isn’t really directed towards young girls.
I mean, it’s the idea of a dominant, somewhat forceful male lead. That’s one thing, but they take it to the level of rape, as if that’s the same.
Like, I have a list of manga with MCs with kids, and have various Chinese webtoons there. About 90% involve the male lead raping the female lead. I really don’t get how SO many authors are doing this.

Well I don't know how much is actually fantasy since I do remember that waterballoon event in China where grown man would assault en harras (young) women. When other men would help or try to defend the women they often got beat up... It was a while ago but it was all over the news back then and it wasn't only in one city, but in a lot of different places in China as well....

Besides China's one child only policy, the murdering of millions of female babies, or that now in order to find wives men are buying/kidnapping women from surrounding countries.
You can't act bad new when we been know China ain't shit (the government, not people). Women aren't valued and it shows in there writing.
Two children now. Just as bad, though. Forced abortions on people who have more than two. There are about a million more men than women due to the one child policy, which is why they upped it to two. I don't know if the women who write this shit just have rape kinks or what. There are plenty of good Chinese shows and writing. One of my favorite stories is a manhua.

how is this even legal to be published? I mean this is so wrong in all and many ways. The both men in this story have done things to the main girls that are so not right and long way away from being romantic!! This is very wrong for young girls to read and to be "normalized". It makes me mad and sad to be honest...
