I read the spanish raws (though it's been a while and am not fluent anymore with it) and I think it goes beyond the fact they considered themselves as brothers. I don't want to spoil but it's not like that imo.

The trope of "we're not blood-related so let's date!" is so bizarre when the two main characters have had a family dynamic all their lives... At this point, they really are brothers. And honestly it's weirder for 2 ppl who have considered themselves brothers to date rather than 2 blood-related complete strangers
