What in the Story Progression

Like... GW did just get raped how could the next step in the story be sex. The way many mangas and manhwas trivialize rape and Abusive relationships is actually scary

I was so happy with previous chapters bc everything is progressing slowly and in a beautiful way but this????? They didn’t even talk about what happened and why would u make love to someone just got raped???

Right... you’re helping you love interest get a sick tattoo (totally cute interaction) next a rape scene then next sex. I can’t imagine anyone is in any mood to have sex after being raped. Like how desensitized to rape are these characters! I hope they talk about it soon with love and understanding and that blonde guy gets jail time

It’s a way a lot of rape victims cope. I’ve known people who try to cover their trauma by having lots of consensual sex. It makes them feel in control of their body. He wanted someone who he didn’t hate to cover up what that asshole had just done to him. I’m not saying it’s a good thing, but it’s not unheard of.

Well the human psyche is complicated. The uke was terrified of his ex, but it seems like the uke was use to the ex forcing himself onto him (sadly). And when it happens enough, they get use to it, even when they're still scared. Sometimes, the sh9ck fr9m it happening doesn't r3gister with the victim because the brain kind of shuts out the traumatic experience or pain, as a defensive mechanism. So on some cases, the victim can recal ehat happrned, but feel distant from the wxperience and inform other of it as if it was someone else's ex0erience.

But I think the uke was seeking security, so when he found the seme, he latched on to any form of security. that and the uke was already attracted to the seme. And sex is such an intimate activity, to be fully exppsed and vulnerable, would make the uke feel more secure. Plus help him forget and override what he just went through.

That's what I think at least. But everyone /every chsracter responds differently.

What you’re saying makes perfect sense maybe GW did want a sense of security and safety in a partner( something he didn’t have with his ex) but I worry that literature like this can trivialize or romanticize rape for men or just use it as a story plot. It might be a lot to ask from stories like this but I hope there are future conversations in the manhwa where this traumatic moment is explored and his partner helps him heal and he finds healing and happiness for himself

No I 100% agree, the trivialization and romanticization of rape for men in BL is a rampant problem, I hope there is accurate representation and proper handling of the topic in the future. But, if you want a way to explain his behavior in the story, I think that’s the best way to cover that veeeery problematic plot hole. I have my fingers crossed that it’s explained better in-story in the future.
