Actually, I'll be okay if she forgives the emperor...(edited)

Actually, I'll be okay if she forgives the emperor, however I would love for him to suffer the consequences of his actions. He may have done what he did because he was troubled by his feelings for Bella, but he must be held accountable for his actions. I would definitely prefer that she ends up with Eden, but I won't be too mad if she forgives the emperor and end up with him. As long as he realized that he permanently scarred her psyche. Keep in mind, when I say forgive, I don't mean forget. Bella will never be the same as before no matter how much she forgives him. I just don't want hatred to consume her. But I may be expect too much for a manhua. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

For him to experience what he did to her would be almost impossible, as it would take multiple years, would require extreme betrayal by someone he loves and so on. Like if he let someone beat her for money, that would already be a huge deal but he sold her as a slave whose pure purpose is to be abused. The suffering she faced what extreme and excessive. Sure, it would be great to see him suffer but it will never be enough as what he did two her will remain real, it can't be taken back.

I agree. I should have said "...realized the full weight of his actions" that way he sees how hurt she was without necessarily feeling what see felt. It is impossible for the mental scars he caused to heal. But when I said forgive, I did not mean forget. I just don't want Bella to be eaten up by hatred. Ultimately, it's hard for me to type exactly what I mean.

Oh so you mean like accept what happened but to not focus on revenge/hatred?

Btw, overall I do think that they should not end up together. I'm assuming this but are you going off the idea of "the story will most likely end with them together so I hope at least ..." ? Like you know that they will end up together but you hope that at least he realizes/changes/etc?

Yes and yes? It seems to be a common trend in manhuas for that to happen, but I at least hope he realizes/changes. In the end, it is still fiction.

    BTW, love you profile pic!

Not forgiving doesn't mean getting eaten up by hatred. That's a fallacy. One I wish these authors would finally understand. Btw, where do you think fictional plot comes from if not real life experiences? Distilled down to their core these plots largely imitate life. Just because we can't see it doesn't mean it isn't true. Oh be quiet and don't just assume, they didn't say that it's a or b. For all you know they may have been referring to how it's highly likely that she, who hates him intensely, may get eaten up by hatred.

Plus, when did they say that this stuff doesn't happen in real life? It a common theme in this genre of manga so it's reasonable to assume that it will happen in this story.
