If the dude was seventeen and the other was thirteen then it would technically be pedophilia though.

exactly, it’s the “prepubescent” part that i’m caught up on because i don’t think 13 years old is prepubescent
also, the “dominant persistent sexual preference” part because i think it was clearly trying to show that this was a one off thing for him because the kid just happened to be there and easy to get to do stuff. I mean, he’s DEFINITELY a predator but a pedophile? i don’t think so
A good number of states in the US have a law called the "Romeo and Juliet" law where if both members are below the age of 18 then it isn't considered pedophilia. Still, the situation is fucky and not ok, but in most cases it is not considered pedophilia since the both of them were not legal adults.
