I can understand your frustration somewhat but I honestly feel this story has a more interesting set up than Suddenly became a Princess. At least this story propably won't be limited to JUST father daughter interaction.
For 80 excruciating looong chapters, mind you, before the characters finally get somewhere and you can see the faint silhouette of a plot on the horizon only for the author to pull the laziest plot advice ever:
(⊙…⊙ ) "Who are you?? Nope can't remember you."
- > aaaand we're back to square one
At least this one is only a few chapters in and there are still a lot of questions unanswered. Also there is nothing wrong with taking inspiration from other stories and forming them into your own, which this author does quite nicely so far.
But anyway, that's just my opinion.

I don't really see how this is similar to Suddenly Became a Princess One Day besides her having a powerful father. The magical father-daughter story is p much a genre now. I get it if you like Suddenly Became a Princess One Day better but this story is it's own thing. This father aint trying to kill his child like Cloud did. Last chapter pointed at there being a reason for the father not being there for the daughter not like Cloud hating Athy cas her mom died giving birth. This dude obviously always kept his daughter close to his heart although he gave her up for some reason I guess we'll learn later. Cloud hated Athy for hella a long time. If anything, this story is more similar to I am a Child of this House since the girl there also gets reunited with her father after being abused. Daughter of the Emperor is more similar to Suddenly Became a Princess one day since they both have fathers who wanted to kill their daughters at first and let them live on a whim. The plot for this story is going to focus on the girl overcoming her trauma and becoming confident in herself while Suddenly Became a Princess One Day focuses on Athy being trying to survive and form a relationship with her father while always feeling like one day he'll get rid of her. I love Athy and Cloud but this story and that story are very different.

this is like. a REALLY dry, vapid version of Suddenly Became A Princess, except there’s no reincarnation gimmick. “everyone calls me stupid bitch and i am like 10 years old time to venture off into a forest for my real dad i JUST found out about” they aren’t even trying with the love interest - how did the dad NOT notice fox kid when he was under the table but IMMEDIATELY noticed him in the bushes? “oohh i’ll act like a protective father who will threaten any boys close to my daughter’s age” motherfucker you can’t act like that when, from what i gather, your daughter didn’t even know you EXISTED until like TWO DAYS AGO. at least claude had some decent build up and development, we actually FELT something when he started warming up to athy, which made the stakes that much higher when he lost his memories. i feel like the author’s just banking on people liking him bc he looks like howl and the art being super pretty - which it is! i really wanted to like this, but there are way too many things it takes from other “daughter of a powerful man” stories, and it doesn’t even try to make it different or interesting
