I’ll be frank here. I’m only going to continue reading this for the badassedness that is Chloe. If this story devolves into a twisted romance, I am going to completely IGNORE that aspect of the story. The “Archduke” is an asshole. Trying to make him look better by saying he has a tragic past does nothing for his character. Some people have tragic pasts and live a completely “normal” or successful life. The only issue was with his resolve.
