In the novel, the prince is sorta but not really cursed. In his family line, there will be a born to be king person who, if not, finds something that they are intrigued or hold a strong passion for will resort to a bad kind of passion like warfare. In the original novel without Bertie as MC, heronia is supposed to be the strong passion that keeps the prince from becoming a madman. So, in response to this knowledge that Bertia, Bertia decided to push the prince and heronia together so the prince will have his happily ever after. Of course, the only requirement needed for the prince to not be a madman is to have strong passion for something which is now Bertia not heronia, but bertia doenst know that and keeps pushing.

Can anyone who read the novel give me spoilers on why Berita wants the prince with be with the heroine?? As I was re-reading this I noticed that Berita seems to avoid that question when the prince asked her about it ¯_(ツ)_/¯
