Yeah, it's been presented that it was a misunderstanding on his ex(?) wife's side, but since she refuses to hear his side that main belief of everyone outside of the prince's circle is that he did actually cheat, soooo.
But like at the same time, he is still a huge flirt character, so maybe it was like just the cumulation of suspicion over time too on top of it all.
