Oh no, it's not that I live in an expensive city (btw I'm not American). Here they are strict about tenants, if you want a good apartment then you go with an agency they cost more but also they have a record of the tenants and your data, with written if you ever paid the rent late and things like that. And the landlords/ladies are notified of that, so they decide if they wanna give you the apartment. Since I have financial problems, I can only go to apartments without the agency, so they are kinda run down usually, they don't make problems about your record tho

I went to my friend's place and they have frickking mosquito nets like woh I can't afford a house, so i pay rent but they even buy the mosquito nets for all the windows how the hell?!???
