I cried reading your comment. Thank you for sharing this. I struggle with depression and severe anxiety but never got to the point where I did this, but sometimes I truly think about it. Deep in my heart I know everything will be fine, I lost a family member because of this. We all have to keep going and we are all together, no matter how lonely we feel. Again, thank you for sharing <3 You are really brave.
I can relate to the first part of the bath scene... I remember the feeling of void in the chest and the fingers running on the skin and the scars trying to feel something, anything... it's been years and I got better eventually but whenever void or anger come I return to this bad habit, even though I know it won't solve anything. If you're experiencing this kind of feelings I want you to know that it's not the end, you can overcome this with support. Trust me, in the future you can even laugh about those scars. Of course there will be times when you'll look at them and be disgusted of yourself, you'll call yourself stupid for ruining your body. But don't be ok?! Look at them as a start, a checkpoint to do better.
Take a deep breath, hold it in and then exhale. It will be fine.
