:) I'm with you, I always liked him because I thought he was a very realistic character. And I was practically shouting when the sister and him had their conversation because it was a true life conversation in a yaoi. People need to walk a mile in some one's shoes before they judge. Thanks for your words.
Ok, I'm guessing that I'll get hate for this but idc. I like Yijin. I like his character. From the very first chapter it's clear that he doesn't see gay stuff as normal. Is that wrong? Yes. But that doesn't change the fact that he's afraid. Of not being seen as normal. Of society rejecting him.
I get it that so many of you think of him just as a homophobe, but I see him as a guy who is dealing with so much internal struggle. He thinks people can choose the gender they like because in a way, he can. Because he's bi - still in hard denial though (for bi people is in fact possible to choose a straight lifestyle over gay one - or the other way around, and pretend as if you're attracted to only one gender, even if it hurts).
He agreed to have sex with a guy - his biggest fear - to save his family. How many of you would be willing to face your biggest fear? This is in fact pretty admirable. And despite often hurting (though thankfully this is getting better) he's still keeping his end of the deal. Even if he tried to avoid it multiple times, at the same time he never actually broke his word.
And right now we're even seeing him talking to his sister about gays because he's trying to understand. Sure, he says some stupid things, but it's all him slowly dealing with his fears and misconceptions. And his character is growing so much.
So those who are hating on him, you lack empathy and understanding. And you're hypocrites. Because no one is perfect. And it's one thing to just keep on doing bad things and not caring to change, but it takes guts to start seeing things in a new light and face deepest fears and work the way through them. Which is exactly what he's doing.
