I hate the "uke was raped by someone but saved from a trauma by the seme's dick " trope as much as the next person but in this case I was under the impression that MC used to be in an abusive or unhealthy relationship with his ex and that this was the main reason why MC left the country. So that his ex can't find him. If it turns out that they actually had a rather normal relationship (which seems extremely unlikely at this point) until the MC ran away, I will consider chapter 9 to be ridiculous. But if it turns out that his ex was abusive and raped him in the past as well then this wouldn't be the typical rape trope anyway (it would be more of a Yatamomo situation). Besides, seeing how we're only at chapter 9 I also doubt that they will end up being a happy lovey-dovey couple starting next chapter, which means that the being cured by having sex trope probably won't apply here. But who knows, I could be wrong and this could actually go down hill very quickly. My biggest complaint after reading Blood and Soul was that the story would've been better if it had been more horror and less forced BL tropes (although I thought it was significantly better than Baker on the first Floor), so maybe something similar is happening here as well.
