I'm an avid Tarot card user myself and I can tell you that out of all of them, the Ten of Swords is a lot worse compared to Death and The Devil. But every card has an upside and a downside, just like Lovers.
The Ten of Swords, when drawn in a reading about someone, means they've hit rock bottom in life, but that also means there's nowhere to go but up.
The Death card is basically just the end of something, not literally death. It could be the end of a bad relationship, a job, or something minor like a diet.
The Devil card drawn in a reading makes you aware that you're in a constant cycle of bad habits. Most representations show two humans who are loosely chained with the devil, which means they've let themselves slip into bad habits, but they can break from them at any point they choose. It's just a matter of recognizing that you have the will.
The Lovers is quite a complex card in a reading, because it doesn't always mean a pair of lovers. It could be a strong relationship in your life that's affecting you. The upside of the card is a loving relationship built on trust, honesty and respect. The reverse is an unhealthy relationship of misplaced feelings of love, disharmony, imbalance, and self-absorption. There are many ways the Lover can appear in a reading in a bad way, like when you're in a bad place in your own life, it can turn you into someone you don't know and that affects the other person involved.
When you do your own tarot readings, keep an open mind and make sure you understand your cards first. Just like humans, there's a light side and a dark side to every card. The most important thing is to be honest with yourself. Recognizing that you're doing something wrong instead of making excuses for it is the first step to changing. The cards reveal the path you need to take. Just trust the process, and know the future always changes.

that's what i was thinking the whole time, so, in fact the author did a really good job at choosing these cards because they are relevant to the story: a new beginning (vlad), cycle that never ends (roxanne), and a really strong bond (naemin and vlad)
I do reading myself, and that's precisely what gets me irritated: the way the cards are portrayed. People assume that the Love card has to be a good card, and the Death card has to be a bad" one.
I do like this manga, but it just get on my nerves the way people - mostly authors - just assume things in their own instead of doing proper research.

The Death cars is not a bad card. And Lovers is not necessarily a good one either.
