MC

I've read till the lastest novel and there is still no character development, his arrogant and skirt chaser behaviour put me off.
I would like it better if he could grow wiser and more mature as he got stronger, but maybe that's just my wishful thinking.

    I agree-
It's a pity since they have potentials tbh.

Rather than plot development, it's about character development....
tho, sure... the plot itself are messy

If you read the novel, it's not as messy and hasty as the manhwa.
Though I've stopped reading them because it doesn't show any character development whatsoever.
And does it makes sense to make every single other male characters other than few to see the MC basically like mortal enemy-
I'm honestly fed up with those kind of development each time new arc happened.

Yea that's the only thing I'm missing in all these wuxia/magic manhuas. It's all about the next challenger/enemy to fight, and the characters barely get any development. for every 3~4 "big baddie" story arcs there's maybe 1 step of character development, if that.

At least there are a few good ones. Like Tales of demons and gods, and The scholar's reincarnation. Spirit blade mountain is nice too, as it focuses more on the MC being clever rather than the strongest. Though it gets too talky at times.

The thing that annoys me the most, though, is that almost all of these manhuas don't keep to their own early established lore. Most of these have a "if you have this thing you're very highly regarded and everyone will respect you!" thing. Like being able to make formations or pills or something. However when the MC learns that skill, even when they reach a high level in it, everyone still treats him like he's beneath them. Like, I get it, there needs to be conflict in these manhua. But at least be a little creative and don't just have later baddies go "mph, so you are an alchemist? So what, you're still trash!!" after you've established that even being a low rank alchemist gets you a lot of respect and desirability.
