I don't think think it glorifies it, I don't like rape scene usually.... because the characters ignores they were raped and think "oh he loved me so much he couldn't help it". But that's not how it happened here at all. The characters are conscious it's rape.... they are just messed up. It's not a story where rape is glorified or normalized, it's a story where the characters are messed up. (I mean, there is rapist and two stalkers here.......)
You say that’s not how it rolls out, but isn’t it? Even when they ‘have sex’ later the uke still defines it as rape. Horrifyingly enough, the seme tells him to stop calling it rape, and as ‘making love’. It was almost sickening to read, and I hope no survivors ever read this because that would be so triggering. The fact that you’re defining the rapist as someone who’s ‘simply messed up’ even proves my point. He isn’t some barn animal. Jesus Christ, no matter how the author depicted him to be, the seme is a man with intelligent thought and control. He knowingly raped the uke and attempted to rape a woman. The author is a horrible person with no understanding of rape and how utterly disgusting and terrible it is and so writes a story that reflects that.
bruh, u can be critical of art and not be an artist. I myself have been raped, and found thing particular manga nearly-unreadable. It started off good but quickly became a disappointment. The mangaka isn’t going to read the mangago comment section and get her feelings hurt because survivors and those with coherent thought didn’t like her manga. Let people speak and make ur own comment if u disagree so much.
I’m not the only one that knows it was rape, and as many have said, it’s not an unusual trope in BL (as much as I wish it wasn’t). But somehow this manga glorifies this awful thing as something that ‘connects destined lovers’??? He RAPED him. He continuously said no and even called it rape afterwards himself. The seme didn’t have consent so he RAPED him.
And let’s talk about how women are often used as a tool or object to prove that the love interest isn’t gay (despite them clearly being gay, because bisexuality and pansexuality somehow never crosses the shitty, cliche BL artist’s mind).
Before the seme assaulted the uke, he assaulted a woman and it’s not being talked about. It was even mentioned in the manga and the only response was “oh my god he’s into women”, not “oh my god he attack a woman”. All the women in this story are either one-dimensional or doesn't exist, and the story was so confusing I’m not sure if the seme has a trans woman sister?
This entire story was an honest to god monstrosity. I read it until this long hoping to god for a redemption. I should’ve known not to have hope.
