I think It's cause he doesn't have scenes. I mean he had like two lines so far. I'm assuming they just wanted to build the story and emotions of the protagonist. Then they will show more of him.

It could always become one of those stories with great art. A solid beginning story that fucks it up with no character development and a bland character.

Normally I don't hate MLs in fantasy/isekai stories even if they're dicks in the beginning but this guy is incredibly bland. Maybe it's because he doesn't have enough scenes? I don't care what happens to him tbh. I'd just shrug if he gets executed.
