I wouldnt say that he is the same murderous king in the other life, but he has a weak mental constitution that needs to tear Tia down and hate her for no reason just to cope with the loss of Tia's mom, even in this life. Tia's mom literally told him to watch over Tia, but he just grew up to hate her and be petty, never matured to think that shes an asset to the kingdom and his favourite persons daughter! It was fine when he was young, but he should know better as a strong king to see the worth in Tia. So the only way he will be better than his other life is if he learns to be a better King that respects Tia as a good queen and leader for the nation.

At this point, the prince is a way better choice than clingy sociopath Allendis. Y'all always forget the fact that past prince is a completely different person from current timeline prince. Different experiences and environments create different people. Instead of hating him, blame their fucking god and societal expectations. They're the ones that screwed Tia and also the prince over.
